This position supports the ASHP professional policy development and strategic planning processes, including coordinating, writing, editing and analyzing policy-related materials. The individual hired for this role will support and participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of the policy and planning processes.

This position is based in our Bethesda, MD office.  Our office has a hybrid working environment, with a combination of onsite and remote work.  Please note that ASHP requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and candidates will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated upon commencing employment. What You'll Be Doing at ASHP:

  • Supports the development, publication, and implementation of ASHP professional policies via coordination of the ASHP policy development, policy implementation, and strategic planning processes.
  • Assists with the writing, review, and publishing of ASHP policies.
  • Provides substantive analysis and writes summaries of relevant healthcare-related policies.
  • Writes and compiles background and summary materials for various ASHP committees.
  • Assists with annual policy process schedule and convenes and coordinates volunteer drafting teams and contractors accordingly.
  • Coordinates peer reviews of ASHP policy materials.
  • Helps coordinate program activities, event planning, and education/outreach initiatives.
  • Serves as the Assistant Editor of ASHP Best Practices.

What You Bring To ASHP:

  • Minimum of a college degree in health sciences, public policy, communications or pharmacy.
  • Minimum of three years of prior related work experience.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on teams.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Electronic/web and print publishing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Professional.
