The Accreditation Services Associate uses professional knowledge, practice experience, and technical expertise to evaluate residency and pharmacy technician training programs and compliance with accreditation standards. Uses sound judgment and critical thinking in interpreting accreditation standards, applies the standards consistently, and leads a survey team in evaluating residency and pharmacy technician training programs. Ensures pharmacy residency training programs, through their design and conduct, are oriented developmentally where residents develop the outcome abilities to meet patient and community needs.  The base salary for this position is $135,000-$155,000.  ASHP offers a comprehensive benefits plan.  You may view more details regarding our benefits on our careers page.

What You'll Be Doing at ASHP:

  • Schedules and plans accreditation survey visits. Coordinates survey process for on-site reviews, including pre-survey preparation with the site and survey team.
  • Writes accreditation survey reports and confidential page recommendations for the Commission on Credentialing and the Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission.
  • Provides recommendations for the publication of periodic newsletters and ASHP accreditation webpage updates aimed at program directors and preceptors.
  • Develops written materials, makes presentations, or conducts workshops to support residency/technician training programs and the directors/preceptors of those programs.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of products and services that support accreditation services and member needs.
  • Contributes to the planning of residency conferences and other residency related activities at ASHP national meetings and collaborates with ASHP Commission on Credentialing and Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission, and other ASHP councils, sections, committees and task forces as needed.
  • Contributes to the revision of pharmacy residency/technician training accreditation standards and regulations.
  • Suggests improvements in accreditation procedures, processes and cost controls.

What You Bring To ASHP:

  • Licensed pharmacist.
  • Pharmacy degree required plus a working knowledge of the theories and practices of a relevant field or discipline in pharmacy, business or association management.
  • Ability to travel.  This role requires approximately 20% to 30% of domestic travel.
  • Completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency or obtained an equivalent level of practical experience.
  • Advanced pharmacy degree preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of five years of prior related work experience.
  • Served as a pharmacy residency preceptor or residency program director, pharmacy technician training instructor, or pharmacy technician training program director.
  • Established record of achievement in pharmacy practice preferred.
  • Exceptional organization and oral and written communication skills.
  • Appreciation of the unique obligations and responsibilities relevant to serving as a member of a professional membership association headquarters staff.
